A Stunning Opening Performance

Megan Thee Stallion didn’t come to play! The rapper, 29, took her sexy sense of style up a notch on stage at the 2024 BET Awards on June 30.

Nominated for four awards at this year’s show, Meg opened the show at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles, emerging from a cracked snake egg with confidence before belting out a medley of her hits.

Striking Stage Outfit

The “Savage” artist wore a metallic green and gold latex thong bodysuit with a bustier bra and calf-high vinyl boots as she opened up with “Hiss” before inviting the crowd to “turn up with the ‘hot girls.'”

The chart-topper was joined by dozens of backup dancers wearing matching outfits. She transitioned into “Boa” — another of her snake-inspired tracks from her recently released studio album, MEGAN.

Nominations and Awards

Meg is nominated for Best Collaboration and Video of the Year for “Bongos” with Cardi B, Best Female Hip-Hop Artist, and BET Her for “Hiss.” She’s been nominated for a career total of 13 BET Awards and already has six wins under her belt coming into this year’s ceremony.

She took home her first trophy in 2020 for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist. She is also slated to open the night’s show with a performance, kicking off what promises to be a very steamy night.

Tour and New Album

Regardless of the night’s outcome, Megan Thee Stallion has a lot to celebrate right now. She’s currently in the middle of her Hot Girl Summer Tour.

She’s about to wrap up the North American leg of the tour before heading to the U.K. and Europe, and she just dropped her latest album Megan on June 28.

Exploring New Sounds

In a May interview with L’Officiel, the “WAP” artist said she was “tapping into other sounds” for this album, her first since 2022. However, she assured fans that it would still very much be her.

“It won’t feel like I went so left. It’ll feel true to me,” she said. “You’ll almost be like, ‘I wouldn’t have thought she would’ve rapped over that, but this sounds great.'”

Megan Thee Stallion’s electrifying performance and multiple nominations at the 2024 BET Awards highlight her status as a top artist in the music industry, continuing to captivate audiences with her bold style and innovative sound.
