Could Cardi B‘s highly anticipated second album be closer to release than fans expected? On Saturday, August 17, the 31-year-old “Bodak Yellow” rapper hinted at a significant milestone in the album’s production, sharing that the cover art has already been shot.

Hints and Teases on Social Media

The update came after a fan on X (formerly known as Twitter) posted a playful gif of someone standing on the edge of a helicopter, captioned, “I’m on my way to France to see if I can find Cardi the Hermes bag that she wants 😆 @iamcardib I got you sis.” Cardi B responded by quote-tweeting, “If you find me the bag I’ll release my album cover.”

This reply set off a wave of excitement among her followers. One fan quickly caught on and tweeted, “So the album cover is ready is what I’m hearing,” along with a gif of Zendaya listening intently. Cardi confirmed the speculation, replying, “Album covers are taken … I just don’t know which to pick,” leaving fans buzzing with anticipation.

Addressing the Delay and Criticism

Cardi B has faced increasing pressure from fans and critics alike over the delay of her sophomore album. In July, she addressed the topic during an episode of The Joe Budden Podcast, where host Joe Budden provocatively claimed, “We’ll never get another Cardi album again. I am standing on it.”

In response, Cardi didn’t hold back, sharing a clip on X where she expressed her frustration. “I don’t give a f— when people talk s— about me. It’s the fact you always talk s— about me, Joe Budden,” she said.

Cardi also accused Budden of unfairly comparing her to other female rappers and consistently offering only negative critiques of her music.

What’s Next for Cardi B?

While Cardi B has yet to announce an official release date for her second album, the confirmation that the cover art is complete suggests that fans may not have to wait much longer. As the anticipation builds, so does the excitement for what Cardi will deliver next.
