Charlie Puth, known for hits like “We Don’t Talk Anymore,” has recently found a surge of confidence thanks to some encouragement from pop megastar Taylor Swift.

“My new song HERO is about when you see someone you love hurting themselves, ruining the things in their life that are good, but you just can’t save them,” he explained. He noted the song’s personal significance and expressed hope that listeners who have faced similar struggles would find solace in it.

Inspirational Support from Taylor Swift

Puth revealed that Swift’s musical insights were pivotal in his decision to share “Hero” with the world. “I’ve never put out a song like this before—it’s very different for me, but I want to thank @taylorswift for letting me know musically that I just couldn’t keep this on my hard drive any longer,” he wrote.

This acknowledgment highlights the impactful role Swift played in motivating Puth to release this heartfelt track.

Connection to Swift’s Work

The connection between Puth and Swift extends beyond personal encouragement.

On April 28, Puth reshared Swift’s post about her “overwhelmed” reaction to the success of her new album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” which intriguingly name-checks Puth in the title track.

Swift sings about declaring Puth “should be a bigger artist,” a sentiment that evidently resonated with him. Puth also reposted behind-the-scenes photos Swift shared, emphasizing the mutual admiration and support between the two artists.

Looking Forward

With “Hero” poised to debut on May 24, Puth expressed his excitement about his upcoming album and gratitude towards his fans.

“Thank you to all of my fans—you’ll never know how much you mean to me,” he concluded his post, expressing appreciation for their continued support.

Puth’s new single, inspired by both personal experiences and the encouragement of a fellow artist, marks a significant moment in his career. As fans eagerly await “Hero,” Puth’s collaboration with Swift underscores the power of artistic inspiration and the importance of support within the music community.
