Skin Poem: Skin Brings Us Together

When the world needed positive affirmations more than ever, Skin Poem was born. Founder and CEO Chin Simpson has a brother who struggled with psoriasis flare-ups in countries away from his family, and she wanted to do anything she could to help. She would send positive affirmations and poetry verses to her brother in hopes of making him feel loved, and eventually, she formulated skincare to alleviate discomfort caused by psoriasis. Chin realized that her vision could help so many more people, and from that, she started Skin Poem, gentle skincare with uplifting poetry verses on it.

Skin Poem encourages its users to love themselves and take care of their skin. When asked about the other ways that Skin Poem is unique, Chin answers “Instead of thinking what sets me apart, I think, what brings us together? What can we all contribute to our consumers?” Skin Poem emphasizes the importance of the well-being of their customers, it is at the forefront of their vision. Chin always looks for ways to make sure she is meeting the needs of her customers.

In terms of branding, Skin Poem focuses on maintaining its high-quality products, “Ultimately, it is our responsibility to provide the beauty market with effective, quality products so this way each consumer can be confident with their purchases.” Many of the natural ingredients used in their products help with issues that can arise with psoriasis or dryer skin such as having anti-aging, moisturizing, and anti-inflammatory properties.

Collaboration plays a large role in shaping Skin Poem and its products. “Some of the most unforgettable moments for me would be brainstorming with my small team: from solving problems to coming up with ideas to celebrating small wins, and just getting to know each other in a deeper way.” In the near future, Chin and her team “are preparing for the launch of our rebranding, and with this, we are also launching some new products”.

When asked about overcoming hardships, Chin replied “We all go through our own version of hardships. I believe hardships come in different forms in each stage of our lives.” She adds “This then leads you to be more capable in handling the new sets of struggles that come your way in the future. I believe it’s all part of that beautiful, unpredictable cycle of life.” In fact, Skin Poem was the product of a hard time in Chin’s life: a pandemic and being unable to take care of her brother in another country.

The advice that Chin offers is “give it your best, every single time.” Even in the face of struggle and obstacles, Chin is reminded to stay strong. Skin Poem also encourages people to stay strong as well. Whether people are struggling with various skin issues or self-esteem, Skin Poem reminds people to find the light in their lives, stay positive, and give their best. Poetry is something that is powerful and inspiring, and Skin Poem functions to help customers feel uplifted and confident about their skin through poems.
