Investigation underway after prominent LA doctor fatally shot

Police are probing after a Los Angeles physician to the stars was fatally attacked outside the medical facility where he worked in Southern California, according to data from city officers, family, and friends.

Victim Identified as Dr. Hamid Mirshojae

While the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has not officially released the victim’s name, family and friends have identified him as Dr. Hamid Mirshojae, a 61-year-old physician who was widely respected in the area.

According to the LAPD, officers responded to a call around 6:12 p.m. on Friday evening and found Dr. Mirshojae suffering from a gunshot wound near his vehicle, just outside his office at the Warner Plaza Urgent Center. Tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene by the Los Angeles Fire Department.

No Suspects or Motive Identified Yet

As of Tuesday, police had not identified a suspect, and the motive behind the shooting remains unknown. LAPD spokesperson Drake Madison confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and that the killer is still at large.

Dr. Mirshojae’s death has left his family devastated. His ex-wife, Ahang Zarin, shared her grief on social media, expressing the shock and sorrow felt by their four children. “The kids and I are in so much shock,” Zarin wrote on Facebook.

“They took Hamid away from us right in front of his practice. He was always helping people, seeing tens of thousands of patients for decades.”
