The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) followed a man charged with assault with a lethal weapon Monday afternoon, ultimately taking him into detention in downtown Los Angeles.

Suspect Pursued

The LAPD initiated a pursuit of a suspect believed to be involved in an assault with a deadly weapon, driving a white Ford F-150. The chase commenced around 3 p.m. as officers attempted to apprehend the individual.

The pursuit unfolded across multiple surface streets in downtown Los Angeles, with the suspect maneuvering onto sidewalks in an apparent effort to evade law enforcement.

Suspect Apprehended

At approximately 3:25 p.m., the suspect exited the Ford F-150 and fled on foot. However, police swiftly captured and subdued the individual in the courtyard of the Los Angeles Mission. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident.
