Ice Spice teases collaborations and debut album at BET Awards

The Grammy-nominated artist’s upcoming album, ‘Y2K,’ arrives on July 26.

Exciting Collaborations Ahead

Ice Spice is building anticipation for her debut album, Y2K, set to release on July 26. Speaking with Entertainment Tonight at the 2024 BET Awards on June 30, the Grammy-nominated rapper hinted at multiple collaborations featured on the album.

When asked about the “crazy collaboration” she had previously teased, Ice, 24, confirmed, “There’s a couple of them set for the album. That’s what I can say. Yes, of course, more than one.”

Potential Taylor Swift Collaboration

When questioned if her friend Taylor Swift would “return the favor” after Ice’s feature on Swift’s “Karma” remix in May 2023, Ice remained coy. “I think she did me the favor,” Ice said. “But I don’t know. Let’s see, let’s see, let’s see.”

Upcoming Y2K! World Tour

Ice is about to embark on her inaugural headlining tour, the Y2K! World Tour, which kicks off with international festival performances in early July before hitting the United States later in the month.

She mentioned that her collaborators, Swift and Nicki Minaj, are “always welcome” to join her on stage. “They know they’re always welcome,” she added, acknowledging their busy schedules with sold-out tours.

Album Teasers and Performances

Back in February, Ice teased her album while discussing her Starry Super Bowl ad with PEOPLE. She expressed interest in having Swift on a beat produced by her go-to producer, RiotUSA. “I would love to hear that,” she said. “That would be so fun.”

At the BET Awards, Ice performed two tracks from her forthcoming album: “Think U The Shit (Fart)” and her latest single, “Phat Butt.”

She rocked a two-piece outfit designed by I.AM.GIA and performed in front of a graffiti’d garage door with her dancers. The performance concluded with an explosion of lights and fire on the screen behind her.

Red Carpet Fashion

On the BET Awards red carpet, Ice Spice donned a stunning tangerine Versace gown from the spring/summer 2004 collection.

Her stylish appearance added to the excitement surrounding her first-ever headlining tour, which will start in Washington, D.C., on July 30, and conclude on August 31 in Miami.
