Eminem announces “The Death of Slim Shady” album

The Grammy winner’s statement follows Dr. Dre’s revelation in March that fanatics can anticipate an album later this year.

Grammy-winning rapper Eminem revealed that his twelfth studio album, titled The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce), will be released this summer. The announcement was made on April 25, coinciding with a teaser aired before his appearance at the 2024 NFL Draft in Detroit.

Alter Ego Tribute:

The album title pays homage to Eminem’s iconic alter ego, Slim Shady, which has been a significant aspect of his persona since the late 1990s. This release follows his last album, Music to Be Murdered By, which surprised fans with its January 2020 drop.

The trailer features a fictional true crime reporter announcing the demise of Slim Shady, accompanied by commentary from fellow rapper 50 Cent.

Eminem previously teased fans with an April Fools’ Day prank, hinting at a surprise album drop. This prank added to the anticipation surrounding his upcoming release, especially after Dr. Dre confirmed earlier that the album would indeed be released this year.
