Doja Cat: a headlining sensation at Coachella

The artist headlined the carnival for the first time — and brought six costumes with her.

At Coachella 2022, Doja Cat made her debut, and this year, the 28-year-old rapper returned as a headliner for the first time. Not only did she command the stage with her electrifying performance, but she also made history as the second Black female artist to headline the festival since Beyoncé in 2018.

Closing out weekend one with a bang, Doja Cat delivered a hardcore setlist that included both classics like “Tia Tamera” and recent chart-toppers like “Paint the Town Red.” 

She brought out guest performers such as 21 Savage, Teezo Touchdown, and A$AP Rocky, adding to the excitement of her hour-long show. What’s more, she amazed the audience with a whopping six incredible outfit changes throughout her performance.

Doja Cat’s opening look set the stage for an unforgettable performance. Walking onto the stage in a white hazmat suit and a butt-hitting platinum blonde wig, she made a bold statement reminiscent of Game of Thrones. But true to her style, she didn’t stop there.

Magical Transformations

In a true fashion chameleon moment, Doja Cat swiftly transitioned from her hazmat suit to a nude fishnet bodysuit, complemented by hair-raising boots covered in blonde extensions. 

She then amazed the crowd by removing her wig mid-performance, revealing a bleached buzz cut, achieved with the help of GhostBond’s Glow Up glue.

With her buzz cut on display, Doja Cat showcased a series of jaw-dropping outfits, including see-through galactic space suits, a floss bikini perfect for her energetic stage presence, and a high-cut bodysuit with three-dimensional boning. Each look spoke volumes, demonstrating her fearless fashion sense and stage presence.
