Overview:

In a devastating incident, two men and two women were discovered shot to death in a residence in Granada Hills, prompting an investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) into what appears to be a murder-suicide.

Location and Timing:

The shooting was reported around 6:50 p.m. on Saturday in the 11600 block of Lerdo Avenue, situated north of the Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway near Zelzah Park.

Discovery by Law Enforcement:

Upon arriving at the scene, officers, unable to elicit a response at the door, forcibly entered the residence. A witness inside guided them to the four deceased individuals.

Victims Identified:

The victims include a woman approximately 80 years old, a man and woman in their late 40s, believed to be the parents, and another man in his late 80s, suspected to be the shooter. 

LAPD confirmed that the deceased individuals constituted a family, comprising a mother, father, and their two adult children.

Survivor’s Account:

A survivor managed to evade harm by barricading themselves in a room during the violent episode. The relationship between the survivor and the deceased remains unclear.

Investigation and Police Presence:

The LAPD is actively investigating the tragic incident. Capt. Kelly Muniz revealed the large police presence at the scene as authorities worked to unravel the details surrounding the murder-suicide.
