On Saturday, July 27, Snoop Dogg shared a heartwarming behind-the-scenes picture, showcasing how he balances his many roles with his “grandfather duties” at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. The image features the 52-year-old rapper, and Olympic torchbearer, squatting down to tie his granddaughter’s Adidas sneakers as she stands before him.

“Grandpa’s duties while at the Olympics 💕🇺🇸😘🔥,” Snoop captioned the post. This touching moment came just a day after he carried the Olympic torch through the Paris suburb of Saint-Denis during the opening ceremony.

Snoop Dogg is the proud father of sons Corde, 29, and Cordell, 27, and daughter Cori, 25, with his wife, Shante Broadus. Earlier this year, he revealed on The Jennifer Hudson Show that he has “a total of 12 grandkids,” whom he loves equally.

Reflecting on his own upbringing, Snoop shared in an exclusive clip from Words + Music: From the Streets to the Suites with PEOPLE, “My grandpa was my best friend, and for me to be that for my grandkids is showing that I actually did well and I was able to outlive the circumstances.”

Snoop expressed his desire to mentor his grandchildren, saying, “Now I can look back — I can teach those who want to get to this level. Or at least give them a blueprint and help them avoid some of the traps that I had to deal with.”
