A massive and illegal fireworks display lit up the night sky in downtown Los Angeles late Sunday, captivating onlookers and sparking chaos. 

Videos shared on social media captured the startling sights and sounds, showcasing the unauthorized fireworks that illuminated areas like Little Tokyo. 

The show began around 10:30 p.m. and continued for several minutes, prompting car alarms to blare amid the chaotic scene.

Residents and visitors shared multiple videos on social media platforms, providing a glimpse of the unauthorized spectacle. The visuals depicted vibrant explosions casting a glow over the cityscape, with one user mentioning that the fireworks rattled hotel windows and seemed to ignite small fires.

The LAPD swiftly responded to the incident, acknowledging the massive illegal fireworks show in a post on X. As of now, details regarding the source of the fireworks remain unclear, and an investigation is underway to ascertain the individuals responsible for organizing the unauthorized display.
