Disturbing video surfaces amid allegations against Sean Combs

CCTV has appeared, seemingly showing rap mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs attacking artist Casandra “Cassie” Ventura in a hotel hallway in 2016.

A troubling video aired by CNN has come to light following allegations made by Ms. Ventura in a lawsuit last year against her ex-boyfriend and producer, Sean “Diddy” Combs. 

While Ms. Ventura has not personally commented on the video, her lawyer, Douglas Wigdor, stated that it confirms “the disturbing and predatory behaviour of Mr Combs.”

Video Details and Incident Description

The video, which has not been independently verified by the BBC, appears to be a compilation of surveillance footage dated March 5, 2016. 

According to CNN, the footage was filmed at the now-closed InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles. The clip shows Ms. Ventura leaving a hotel room and walking towards a row of elevators.

A shirtless man, identified as Sean Combs, is seen holding a towel around his waist and hurrying down a hallway. When he catches up to Ms. Ventura, he grabs her, throws her on the floor, and kicks her as she is on the ground.

He then picks up her luggage, kicks her a second time, and attempts to drag her by her shirt. The attacker leaves briefly before returning to shove Ms. Ventura as she stands up, then sits in a chair near the lifts and throws an object.

Legal and Public Reactions

Douglas Wigdor, representing Ms. Ventura, expressed in a statement, “The gut-wrenching video has only further confirmed the disturbing and predatory behaviour of Mr Combs. Words cannot express the courage and fortitude that Ms Ventura has shown in coming forward to bring this to light.”

As of now, a lawyer for Mr. Combs has not responded to a request for comment from the BBC. The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office has indicated that the assault captured in the video may be too old to prosecute.
