Remy Ma’s Son arrested on murder charges in 2021 killing

Remy Ma‘s 23-year-old son, Jayson “Jace” Scott, has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with a 2021 killing, according to New York City police.

The arrest, made on Tuesday, June 18, involves the shooting death of 47-year-old Darius Guillebeaux on June 7, 2021.

Details of the Arrest

Authorities informed PEOPLE that Scott, alongside another suspect, was taken into custody for the crime. Scott faces charges including first- and second-degree murder, reckless endangerment in the first degree, and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.

The co-suspect, 22-year-old Richard Swygert, is also charged with first-degree murder, reckless endangerment, and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

The 2021 Incident

The New York Police Department (NYPD) provided details about the incident, which occurred in Queens. Officers responded to a 911 call reporting a male shot at the intersection of 148 Street and Rockaway Boulevard.

Upon arrival, they found Guillebeaux unconscious and unresponsive, with multiple gunshot wounds to the head and chest. He was transported to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Legal Proceedings and Family Response

An arraignment for Scott and Swygert is expected, though it is unclear if they have retained legal representation to comment on their behalf.
