Peaky Blinders: the future beyond the final season

The upcoming Peaky Blinders film – being shot in the West Midlands – will begin shooting in September.

Cillian Murphy to Reprise Role:

Steven Knight, the creator of Peaky Blinders, has confirmed that Cillian Murphy will return as Thomas Shelby in the upcoming film adaptation. 

The film is set to be shot in Digbeth, Birmingham, as part of efforts to bolster the city’s film industry, potentially creating 760 new jobs.

Series Conclusion and Transition to Film:

Originally planned for seven series, the sixth installment of Peaky Blinders will serve as the final chapter in its current form. The pandemic disrupted production schedules, prompting a shift in plans. 

The film will now replace the previously intended seventh series, offering closure to the beloved series set in post-World War One Birmingham.
