Two people passed away in a multiple-car collision in the 5000 block of West Coliseum Street in the Baldwin Hills-Crenshaw area, the Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed on Saturday. 

A tragic crash at an intersection in Los Angeles has claimed the lives of two individuals, sparking concerns among locals about the safety of the area. The incident occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m., with the victims pronounced dead at the scene by the Los Angeles Fire Department‘s Brian Humphrey.

Calls for Action

Following the accident, drivers like Robert Hunt have expressed concerns about the intersection’s safety, with Hunt remarking, “Just yesterday, I was saying to my wife that someone is going to get killed at this intersection.” 

The crash has reignited calls for improved safety measures to prevent similar tragedies in the future.

Details of the Collision

According to police reports, the crash involved a Mercedes and a BMW, resulting in the Mercedes flipping onto its roof.

The two individuals in the Mercedes, a man and a woman, tragically lost their lives in the collision. Meanwhile, the driver and passenger of the BMW sustained minor injuries and were transported to the hospital for treatment.

Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the crash to determine the circumstances that led to the fatal collision. 

As of now, no other injuries have been reported, but the community remains shaken by the loss of life and is calling for swift action to address safety concerns at the intersection.
