Empowering Communities: The Inspiring Journey of Matthew Riddick

From Personal Trials to Pioneering Change for Black & Brown Communities

Philadelphia native Matthew Riddick’s life has been a beacon of hope and resilience. It began with a scripture, Philippians 4:13, and evolved into a relentless journey of business success, philanthropy, and community empowerment. As he traversed through life’s challenges, both personally and professionally, he kept his faith as the driving force.

Growing up in Philadelphia, a young Riddick imbibed the essence of the verse “I can do all things in Christ who gives me strength.” This verse has not just been a memory but the very lifeblood of his achievements. As he climbed the academic ladder, acquiring an Associate in Arts degree in Liberal Studies, a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, and a prestigious Juris Doctor in Law, Matthew’s belief only strengthened.

With over twelve years of robust experience in the healthcare domain, Matthew has touched various facets – from commercial health to pharmaceuticals. Currently, as the Chief of Staff of the U.S. Commercial Solutions business for global firm IQVIA, his leadership has been paramount. The industry too didn’t lag in recognizing his unparalleled prowess, as evident by his three-time “Forty Under 40” honors.

However, life has its way of testing strength and conviction. In 2020, Matthew was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease, an inflammatory bowel disease. But instead of seeing it as a setback, he transformed it into a stepping stone. Alongside his wife, ‘Angela’ he founded The Riddick Foundation. This non-profit organization stands as a testament to his indomitable spirit and his vision to uplift Black & Brown communities. Through scholarships, healthcare education, mentorship, and much more, the foundation has been a beacon of hope.

One of the foundation’s flagship programs involves partnering with educational institutions to establish scholarships for Black business students. Additionally, its association with the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America and the Dance Theatre of Harlem showcases the diversity and depth of its endeavors.

Matthew’s story is not just about personal triumphs. It’s about the will to give back, the resolve to uplift communities, and the drive to leave a lasting legacy. He has traveled the length and breadth of the country, preaching the importance of healthcare, education, and financial literacy. And as he and Angela plan to expand the horizons of The Riddick Foundation into arts mentorship, the vision is clear – to cultivate the next generation of leaders within the Black and Brown community.

In Matthew Riddick’s journey, we find a story of faith, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to community upliftment. His story is an epitome of how personal trials can be transformed into community triumphs.
