Behati Prinsloo returns to Victoria’s Secret: an emotional comeback

Prinsloo celebrities in the brand’s new Dream campaign and tells PEOPLE how it felt to return to her Victoria’s Secret “family.”

Behati Prinsloo, the longtime Victoria’s Secret model, is back in her VS bras, starring in the brand’s newest Dream campaign.

The 36-year-old model returns to her roots six years after stepping away from the brand, marking an emotional and joyous reunion.

A Bittersweet Return

Prinsloo tells PEOPLE exclusively that when she walked away from Victoria’s Secret in 2018, she felt she had a “great run” and didn’t anticipate returning. However, upon reuniting with her VS family for the Dream campaign, she found herself overwhelmed with emotion. “I was emotional,” she says.

“At the end of the day, I cried. I totally broke down. It was overwhelming. I couldn’t even explain it. I was just overwhelmed with joy and memories, and the day went really great, and we had a great time, and it felt like the old days.”

The Dream Campaign

The new campaign, shot in London by Angelo Pennetta, features Prinsloo alongside Candice Swanepoel, Taylor Hill, Devyn Garcia, and more.

When the opportunity was presented, Prinsloo was intrigued but conflicted about returning to modeling. It was her husband of 10 years, Adam Levine, who ultimately convinced her.

“He was like, ‘Life is short. It was such a huge part of your life. You haven’t seen Candice in a while. Just go do it. What do you have to lose? What’s going to happen if you say yes?'” Prinsloo shares.

Excitement and Nostalgia

After deciding to come back to Victoria’s Secret, Prinsloo felt “giddy” and excited. She admits that the brand feels like her “family” because she “grew up with them” after modeling with the company for so many years.

“We had a great time, honestly,” she says of the shoot. “It felt like the right time and a great shoot to come back in.”
