The pair attended the event in celebration of The Outsiders, a production that Jolie has invested in as a producer. The show garnered an impressive 12 Tony nominations, including Best Musical.

Jolie, who had a presenting role during the ceremony, stunned in a custom light-teal Atelier Versace strapless gown. The dress featured a sweetheart neckline and a corseted bodice with fluid draping, paired with a matching velvet shrug.

She completed her sophisticated look with satin Versace shoes and wore her hair in an effortless down style. Holding hands with her daughter, Jolie graced the red carpet at Lincoln Center’s David H. Koch Theater in New York City with grace and elegance.

This night was particularly meaningful for the duo, as Jolie has shared that Vivienne inspired her to take on the Broadway project. “She saw an early workshop a few times and then invited me to it,” the Maleficent star revealed to PEOPLE at The Outsiders’ opening night in April.

Jolie highlighted Vivienne’s dedication to the arts, noting, “Viv is a young artist who focuses her efforts on her support of others.

She has been there to assist in any way she can and has learned so much from [score and co-book writer] Justin Levine and the whole creative team.” Vivienne’s role as a producer assistant is even acknowledged in The Outsiders Playbill.

This wasn’t the first time Jolie and Vivienne showcased their style on the red carpet for The Outsiders.

On April 11, they attended the opening night, with Jolie in a gold slip dress and matching silk cape, and Vivienne in a navy jumpsuit that coordinated with Justin Levine’s attire.
