Confrontation on Neutral Bay Wharf

Ben McDonald, aged 51, has accused Scott Swift, 71, the father of pop megastar Taylor Swift, of assaulting him on a Sydney wharf.Ā 

The incident occurred on Tuesday following the disembarkation of Mr. Swift and the singer from a yacht. According to reports, Mr. McDonald did not require medical assistance after the altercation.

Aggressive Behavior Allegations

While a spokesperson for Taylor Swift did not directly address the assault claim, they stated that two individuals had behaved aggressively towards them. 

A video released by Australian media captures the singer, accompanied by her father and security guards, walking along Neutral Bay Wharf.Ā

Amid flashing cameras, voices are heard accusing each other of interference with umbrellas, although it remains unclear whether the alleged assault is depicted in the footage.

Eyewitness Account

Mr. McDonald recounted the incident to the BBC, stating that Taylor Swift had already entered a car when Mr. Swift “charged in” and assaulted him. 

He claimed to have been unprovoked and emphasized his lack of previous confrontations during his 23 years in the industry.

Response from Taylor Swift’s Representative

In response to the allegations, Taylor Swift’s representative stated that two individuals were aggressively approaching the singer, grabbing at her security personnel, and threatening members of her staff. The representative did not address the specific details of the alleged assault.

Police Inquiries Underway

Following the incident, the younger man involved reported the altercation, prompting inquiries by officers from the North Shore Police Area Command. Investigations into the matter are currently ongoing, according to a statement issued by the New South Wales Police.
