A Sudden Arrest in Paris

Rapper Travis Scott, 33, was briefly detained by Parisian police following an altercation with his bodyguard at a five-star hotel in Paris.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Friday, August 9, at the George V Hotel. The Paris prosecutor’s office confirmed the arrest but has since clarified that Scott has been released without any charges.

Details of the Incident

According to French authorities, the altercation began when Scott, whose real name is Jacques Bermon Webster II, allegedly attacked a security guard who was trying to break up a fight between the rapper and his own bodyguard.

The police were called to the scene around 5 a.m., where they arrested Scott on allegations of assault.

No Charges or Future Legal Actions

A representative for Scott informed PEOPLE that the rapper has been released with no charges, and there are no plans for him to face any future legal action.

A source close to Scott emphasized that there were no injuries or violence directed toward any other party, including the security team.

The Cause of the Dispute

The incident reportedly stemmed from Scott’s frustration with his bodyguard, who he felt had not adequately protected him from being swarmed by fans and paparazzi throughout his stay in Paris. This frustration apparently led to the confrontation that escalated into the early morning altercation.

Aftermath and Response

Following the arrest, a representative for Scott stated that they are in direct communication with local Parisian authorities to resolve the matter swiftly. The representative assured that updates would be provided as necessary.

A Busy Week in Paris

The arrest came shortly after Scott was spotted attending Team USA’s basketball semifinal against Serbia at the Paris 2024 Olympics on Thursday, August 8. Despite the incident, the rapper appears to be moving forward without any legal repercussions.
