Larry Namer is a name synonymous with success in the entertainment space, holding over 50 years of experience and gaining recognition as a change-maker and industry veteran. His journey may seem like a Hollywood blockbuster script, driven by great ideas, visions, innovation, and achievements. He has made an indelible mark in the media realm globally, co-founding E! Entertainment Network and spearheading various entertainment ventures in China as well.

He began his journey with Manhattan Cable and quickly realized the potential of cable television. This was the start of a new beginning for him, and rising through the ranks, he became the “It” guy shaping the future of the cable industry, expanding and diversifying it. This led him to co-found Movietime with a friend, Alan Mruvka, which later transformed into E! Entertainment Television Network, redefining entertainment news and celebrity culture. 

Larry Namer’s leadership with E! Entertainment helped launch the careers of several TV personalities and revolutionized audiences’ consumption of entertainment. It produced hit shows like Fashion Police, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, and E! News, which helped the company reach massive success worldwide. Larry and Alan later sold their stake in the company, which Comcast now owns.

However, Larry Namer did not stop there. His pursuits and passion for entrepreneurship motivated him to launch Comspan Communications, which brought Western entertainment to post-Soviet Russia, helping organize one-of-a-kind events like the White Nights Festival in St. Petersburg. As a consultant to Microsoft, he also developed interactive TV strategies, which today have paved the way for a successful digital media landscape.

His ventures in China have garnered him even more recognition. He created compelling content for China as the President of Metan Global Entertainment Group and broke barriers as a Western producer in the Chinese entertainment space. Throughout his career, Larry Namer has achieved numerous awards and accolades for all the right reasons, including the Lifetime Achievement Award and the Tribeca Disruptor Award.

Larry Namer has always been considered the big media guy who has seen and done it all to ensure he only contributed positively and significantly to the entertainment realm worldwide. He is a trailblazer for opening new opportunities, bringing television to Russia as well as China, creating long-lasting TV shows in China, breaking barriers, and reinventing himself. He still doesn’t leave an effort untouched in contributing to the entertainment world, working on several of his ongoing projects. Currently, he serves as the President of Metan and Chairman of LJN Media, a development firm that specializes in entertainment-related projects and platforms.
