Armie Hammer Clarifies Rumors

Armie Hammer has set the record straight about the rumors regarding his rehab stay. Appearing on Piers Morgan Uncensored on Friday, July 19, the House of Hammer subject, 37, denied reports that Robert Downey Jr., 59, paid for his six-month rehab in Florida in 2021.

At that time, Hammer was dealing with issues related to drugs, alcohol, and sex, as reported by Vanity Fair.

Addressing the Allegations

When asked by Piers Morgan if the rumors were true, Hammer was clear in his response. “No, he did not. He did not pay for me to go to rehab,” Hammer stated.

The interview, which lasted over an hour, delved deeply into the numerous allegations against the Social Network star, including accusations of sexual and physical abuse, as well as cannibalism.

Gratitude for Support

Hammer emphasized his gratitude for those who have supported him. “I don’t want to bring anyone else into my situation.

There are a number of people who have been extremely helpful, and I’m incredibly grateful,” he said. He acknowledged Downey’s support, noting that Downey is known for helping those in Hollywood struggling with addiction.

“In the way where anyone in Hollywood who suffers from any sort of addiction issues — whether it be alcohol or process addiction or drugs — decides to get sober, that guy will find you, and he will help you. It’s amazing.”

Downey’s Influence in Hollywood

In July 2022, a source told PEOPLE that the Avengers: Endgame actor, who has been open about his own battle with addiction, is seen as a key figure in Hollywood for those struggling.

Downey’s support often includes offering advice and reassurance. Hammer recalled Downey’s comforting words during his difficult time:” ‘Sit down, shut up, everything is going to be OK,'” Hammer said.

Other Hollywood Contacts

Despite the support from Downey, Hammer mentioned that he had not heard from Leonardo DiCaprio or Julia Roberts, both of whom he has worked with on past films.

This clarification from Hammer highlights the ongoing support within the Hollywood community for those facing personal challenges, even as rumors and speculations often circulate.
