Pop stars Camila Cabello and Lil Nas X recently encountered a harrowing situation when they became trapped in an elevator for an hour.

In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Cabello recounted the ordeal, which occurred as the duo were on their way to promote their new collaboration, “He Knows,” at Heart, a popular gay nightclub in West Hollywood.

A Tense Hour in the Elevator

Cabello described the intense scene inside the elevator, noting that panic attacks were rampant among those trapped. “People were dropping like flies emotionally,” she said.

Despite the tension, she and Lil Nas X tried to keep the mood light with jokes, although they were “low-key terrified.” The situation was exacerbated by the heat and lack of air conditioning, which caused the mirrors to steam up like a shower.

A Sobering Warning

The tension escalated when Lil Nas X’s security guard cautioned the group to minimize their chatter to conserve oxygen.

“Nas’ security guard is like, ‘I would keep the chatter to a minimum because you guys are about to start taking up all the carbon monoxide and that’s how people pass out,'” Cabello recounted. Lil Nas X responded with a mix of humor and fear, saying, “If we weren’t f—ing panicking before, we sure are panicking now.”

A Bonding Experience

Despite the frightening experience, Cabello noted that it brought them closer together. “Nothing like a trauma bond during a single release,” she remarked.

Once they were finally freed from the elevator, Cabello and Lil Nas X were determined to make the most of their night. They headed to Heart, albeit an hour late, with a renewed sense of celebration.

A Night to Remember

Reflecting on their ordeal, Cabello expressed a mix of relief and determination to enjoy their evening. “We were an hour late to the club and we got there and we were like, ‘We’re getting black-out drunk.

This is a celebration of not just our song, but the fact that we did not get carbon-monoxide poisoning today,'” she said.

This unexpected adventure added a dramatic twist to the promotion of their new song, “He Knows,” highlighting the resilience and camaraderie between the two artists in the face of adversity.
